We began construction on the Garden City Travel Plaza in 1999 and during the first week following our ground breaking we received three telephone calls from different truck drivers thanking us for building a truck stop here! Between the packing plants and regional traffic patterns there were few other options for truck driver services. Intent upon promoting area businesses we employed local architects, builders, sub-contractors, and vendors with the cooperation of Kansas lenders. When ultimately opened on September 12, 2000 we provided over 50 new jobs to locals.
Over time we realized the demand for an RV Park in our area that could cater to the needs of weary travelers, whether rejuvenating overnight or staying longer to explore the region. In mid 2015 we opened the Garden City RV Park, a short walk from the Garden City Travel Plaza.
